As several of you know, the UCC Lien Search site is now available through a new provider, Discovering Montana. The online UCC Search allows us to quickly search Uniform Commercial Code filings. With the change in providers also comes a change in how you as a member are able to gain access to this vital information. All lien searches should now be requested through the State Association Executive Services office by contacting Michelle Dudley at mdudley@auctioneers.org. Please also let us know if you would like certified or non-certified copies of these reports. Charges are incurred for certified copies. Please contact us for more details.
You may have the UCC database searched three different ways:
Filing Number Inquiry: Provide the UCC filing number
Debtor Name Inquiry: Enter the individual debtor’s last name or business debtor name.
Debtor Search Certificate: Enter an individual debtor’s first and last name or business debtor name.
All UCC Lien Searches submitted to Executive Services are typically returned within 24-48 hours on weekdays. All reports will be submitted to the person requesting the information as an Adobe Acrobat file (.pdf), so please make sure that you have this program on your computer so that you will be able to read the report. This is a free download and can be obtained by going to www.adobe.com and click on “Get Adobe Reader” on the left hand side of the page.
